Software & AI Engineer

Ian Liunson

I design full stack systems and AI tools that solve real problems, and I ship practical apps people can open and try.

Who I Am

I started my academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Minnesota before realizing that software engineering was where I wanted to build my career. Within two weeks of making that decision I had secured admission to a Master of Science in Computer Science program at St. Cloud State University, which I completed in May 2026.

While still in Graduate School, I have built production AI systems, designed full stack applications, and developed a deep interest in how intelligent software can be applied to meaningful problems. My most significant project is the Whitelabel v1.0 AI MVP I built as the sole developer at Seeds of Success, an end to end RAG pipeline combining web scraping, OpenAI embeddings, vector search, and a FastAPI backend.

My background in biology gave me a systems level way of thinking that I bring into every engineering problem I work on. I am currently looking for a full time software or AI engineering roles where I can build things that matter alongside people who take their craft seriously. Outside of work, I also build applications for fun on the side and put the ones worth sharing out in the open.

What I'm Building

Live apps live in a monorepo of side projects at ianbuilds.dev. That hub is the source of truth for what I have shipped and what is next, so this page stays focused on who I am rather than a growing product list.
